Mèbî-êqenè Bî (/ˈmèbɪ/ /ɘˈqenè/ [close] [avenue; artery]) is a subtropical Town located in the Lêtdêsara Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Mèbî-êqenè Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Mèbî-êqenè Bî was founded by Có̄̄bó̄̌ Cō̄b̪vér 'Allison Nightlight' Goīs Erméoī̄ Joī̄̄̌ Glëg̈, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Mèbî-êqenè Bî was founded durring the late 17th century in late spring of the year 1584, by Có̄̄bó̄̌ Cō̄b̪vér 'Allison Nightlight' Goīs Erméoī̄ Joī̄̄̌ Glëg̈. The establishment of Mèbî-êqenè Bî was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Có̄̄bó̄̌ Cō̄b̪vér 'Allison Nightlight' Goīs Erméoī̄ Joī̄̄̌ Glëg̈ struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Mèbî-êqenè Bî as a prison colony.

Mèbî-êqenè Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 17th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Mèbî-êqenè Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

Mèbî-êqenè Bî is buildings are arranged arround a network of narrow worn bedrock streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Mèbî-êqenè Bî's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. Astonishigly, the top tier civilian fortifications are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

A look around Mèbî-êqenè Bî has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a town, and more like a spot people just happened to place their homes. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Mèbî-êqenè Bî long.

Mèbî-êqenè Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Mèbî-êqenè Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Mèbî-êqenè Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Mèbî-êqenè Bî possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Mèbî-êqenè Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Mèbî-êqenè Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Mèbî-êqenè Bî's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for the combined use of arcuated and trabeated construction, employing arches and constructed with post and lintel. The arch served as the style's chief structural element, with flanking columns serving as buttresses or decorations. While the general shape of their structures could be generously described as simplistic, the use of these arches and columns created a most distinct ascetic which is easily distinguishable on sight to armatures and experts alike.

Due to the actions of local Kami, winter is skipped in Mèbî-êqenè Bî.

The Herd Animal, Stag near Mèbî-êqenè Bî are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Mèbî-êqenè Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves consuming a local toxin to channel Invocation energies of tier 2 via divine sermons.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Mèbî-êqenè Bî was attacked by savage tribes living nearby Mèbî-êqenè Bî. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Mèbî-êqenè Bî lost 164 people, 347 livestock, and 78 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 64, when members of Mèbî-êqenè Bî's militia enacted an operation to rescue a specific expert from the enemy. The operation was complicated by enemy spies who revealed the militia's plan. The conflict ended with needing to break through the enemy's lines, which ended in defeat for Mèbî-êqenè Bî's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Mèbî-êqenè Bî's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
